About The Role:
Centacare Family Relationship Centre (FRC) is seeking a permanent full time Practitioner to join the team. The position is based in our Fortitude Valley office.
Key Duties:
- Provide intake, assessment, referral and case management with couples, families, individuals;
- Conduct appropriate screening processes to assess client need and especially to identify issues of risk or harm and implement supportive strategies;
- Facilitate Pre Mediation Information Group sessions and refer for Child Consultancy;
- Refer clients to other relevant services and community supports.
Skills and Experience: - Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioral Sciences from a recognised tertiary institution. Eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, or similar recognised professional association.
- Current knowledge of legislation relating to domestic violence, child protection and family law.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the principles and practices of intake and assessment, case management and referral pathways including screening for risk in the areas of child protection, domestic and family violence, suicide.
- Demonstrated substantial knowledge and experience in working with complex family systems.
- High acrimony, family distress and trauma, mental health, drug and alcohol and family law issues.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skill and experience in the delivery of group psycho-educational programs.
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills for a role of this nature.
- A high degree of professionalism and integrity in working with clients, colleagues, management, and community stakeholders.
- Ability to work as a member of a professional team and to work flexibly and cooperatively with Centacare FRC teams.
- Well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry along with well-developed computer literacy skills.
- Ability to work within the ethos of the Catholic Church which includes the principles of Catholic Social Teaching.
Essential Requirements:
- Current Blue Card or eligibility to apply.
- Current driver’s license.
- Current Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check or ability to pass one.
- Agree to sign a statutory declaration stating that you have no overseas criminal offences;
- Valid working rights in Australia.
