Santa Teresa Spirituality Centre is a welcoming place of prayer, reflection, fellowship and Christian formation, providing accommodation, hospitality and spaces for individuals and groups to step away from everyday life, connect with others and deepen their faith. The Centre welcomes a diverse range of guests, including parish communities, clergy and religious, Catholic education groups, other Christian communities and members of the wider community.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of Santa Teresa Spirituality Centre.
Reporting to the Director, Adult Formation, you will oversee the people, facilities, accommodation, hospitality, finances and services that enable the Centre to provide an exceptional and welcoming experience for every guest.
This is a varied leadership position for someone who enjoys bringing together people, operations, hospitality and financial management. You will lead the Centre team, oversee contractors and service providers, manage budgets and resources, build strong relationships with guests and stakeholders, and identify opportunities to strengthen the Centre's services and long-term sustainability.
Importantly, you will balance the practical and commercial requirements of running a busy Centre with its pastoral and spiritual purpose.
Key Responsibilities
As Manager, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Centre, ensuring effective, efficient and sustainable service delivery.
- Oversee accommodation, hospitality, facilities, contractors and Centre resources.
- Develop operational plans and continually improve systems, processes and service delivery.
- Manage and monitor the Centre's annual operating budget, revenue, expenditure and financial forecasts.
- Review accommodation, venue, catering and service pricing to support the Centre's financial sustainability.
- Identify opportunities to improve utilisation, revenue and cost effectiveness while maintaining the Centre's mission and accessibility.
- Lead, support and develop Centre employees, supervisors and contractors.
- Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, induction, rostering and performance development.
- Build strong relationships with guests, clergy, parishes, Catholic education, Archdiocesan agencies and external stakeholders.
- Support the promotion of the Centre, its facilities, programs and services.
- Monitor guest feedback and continually look for ways to enhance the guest experience.
- Provide regular operational and financial reporting and advice to the Director.
About You You are an experienced manager who combines strong operational capability with a genuine commitment to people, service and hospitality.
You will be comfortable moving between the big picture and the day-to-day. This could include supporting your team, working through a budget, responding to a guest, coordinating contractors or identifying a better way of doing things.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Relevant qualifications in business, accounting, commerce, economics or another relevant discipline.
- At least five years' demonstrated executive assistance or finance experience within a complex organisation.
- Strong operational, financial and organisational capability.
- Experience leading people and coordinating multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of governance, compliance, risk and financial procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of people.
- Initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality and professional judgement.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- A demonstrated ability to improve processes, systems and ways of working.
- An ability to work in alignment with the mission, purpose and values of the Archdiocese of Brisbane.
