About the Role
Reporting to the Parish Priest, you'll play an important role in coordinating the parish's sacramental programs and supporting the pastoral life of the parish. You'll work closely with children, families, schools and parish volunteers to organise sacramental preparation, faith formation activities and liturgical celebrations.
This is a varied and people-focused role that combines pastoral ministry, event coordination, administration and community engagement while helping children, families and adults grow in their faith.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate parish sacramental programs from enrolment to celebration.
- Prepare and facilitate parent information sessions and faith formation workshops.
- Support Confirmation, First Communion, Reconciliation and RCIA programs.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, schools and volunteers.
- Assist with liturgies, sacramental celebrations and parish events.
- Prepare learning resources, certificates and liturgical materials.
- Maintain accurate sacramental records and parish documentation.
- Collaborate with parish staff, schools and Archdiocesan ministries.
- Support the Parish Priest in delivering pastoral initiatives.
- Promote a welcoming, inclusive and faith-filled parish community.
About You You're passionate about supporting others and creating meaningful connections within the community. You enjoy working with children, families and volunteers, are highly organised and can confidently balance multiple priorities while maintaining a welcoming and compassionate approach.
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Experience in pastoral ministry, education, administration or community engagement.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning parish systems.
- The ability to coordinate programs, events and volunteers.
- A respectful understanding of, and commitment to, the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
- Compassion, professionalism and discretion when supporting parishioners and families.
- A current Paid Blue Card and National Criminal History Check (or the willingness to obtain both)
