Ready to take the next step in your leadership career and help shape the future?
At Catholic Early EdCare, we believe every child deserves the best start in life—and that starts with passionate, purpose-driven educators and strong, supportive leaders.
We’re seeking an Assistant Director & Educational Leader to join our team at Cleveland LDC – Star of the Sea. In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with the Centre Director to inspire, guide and support a dedicated team of educators, driving high-quality practice, continuous improvement, and a nurturing learning environment for every child.
This is a part-time blended role, combining floater responsibilities within the service (supporting educator programming, covering leave, and ensuring continuity of care across rooms) with non-contact leadership time in the office to support the Centre Director with administrative, compliance, and operational tasks. This balance allows you to stay closely connected to practice while also supporting the strategic and operational running of the service.
At Star of the Sea, children are part of a warm and connected community where strong relationships with families and educators are built over time. Our service is proudly embedded within the local primary school, giving children rich opportunities to engage in school life and transition confidently into prep.
Kindergarten children enjoy regular interactions with their Grade 5 buddies, weekly visits to the school library, and term-based music and STEM experiences delivered by school teachers. We care for children from six weeks of age and deliver a Queensland Government approved kindergarten program for children in the year before prep.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Centre Director in the day-to-day operations of the service
- Provide float support across rooms, including covering educator absences and supporting programming
- Champion high-quality, inclusive early childhood education and care practices
- Lead by example and mentor educators in their professional growth and practice
- Build strong, trusting relationships with families, the school, and wider community
- Undertake non-contact leadership tasks including administration, compliance, and service support
- Step confidently into leadership responsibilities when the Centre Director is away

- Proven experience in an educational leadership role
