About The Role:
Reporting to the General Manager – Aged Care Services, the Clinical Manager is accountable for the leadership and performance of the clinical team and for ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, evidence-based and person-centred care. The role is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, relevant legislation, and organisational policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership to nursing and allied health teams to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, evidence-based and person-centred care, including for clients with complex and high-acuity needs.
- Develop, implement and strengthen a comprehensive clinical service framework, driving innovation, service integration and opportunities for growth across Aged Care Services.
- Lead and mentor clinical staff through supervision, case conferencing and development of clinical reasoning, fostering a high-performing and collaborative multidisciplinary team culture.
- Drive an integrated model of care across clinical and general aged care services in partnership with Regional Managers and key internal stakeholders.
- Embed effective clinical and service governance frameworks in collaboration with the Quality, Risk and Governance Unit.
- Oversee compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, relevant legislation and organisational policies, including leadership of SIRS investigations and root-cause analysis.
- Analyse clinical trends, risks and performance data, presenting insights and continuous quality improvement initiatives to senior leadership.
- Partner with Learning & Development to inform and deliver clinical onboarding and ongoing professional development.
- Recruit, onboard, supervise and performance-manage clinical staff within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Build and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure workplace health and safety obligations are met, including incident reporting, risk management and completion of mandatory training.
- Act at all times to safeguard children and adults at risk and meet all legislative and regulatory obligations.
About You - Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated senior clinical leadership and management experience within aged care or a related health setting.
- Proven ability to lead clinical teams in best practice and clinical excellence.
- Sound financial acumen with experience in clinical and operational budget oversight.
- High-level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, clinical research and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and supervise multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required clearances, including Driver’s Licence, Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, AFP Check, and evidence of right to work in Australia.
