Pay rate: $36.89 - $37.95 + Super + Allowances
Your Role:
As the Assistant Director, you will be at the forefront of delivering excellence in early childhood education. In this key role, you’ll take on the responsibilities of the Educational Leader and mentor and guide a dedicated team of educators, driving practice that not only meets but exceeds national standards and ensures every child benefits from a rich, high-quality learning experience.
What you will do:
- Lead with Purpose: Spearhead the implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS), embedding best practices throughout the service.
- Mentor & Empower: Support educators in curriculum design, intentional teaching, and reflective practice to elevate learning outcomes.
- Champion Continuous Improvement: Play a vital role in developing, reviewing, and evolving the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), reinforcing our commitment to excellence.
- Facilitate Growth: Lead engaging professional learning sessions and foster team collaboration to inspire pedagogical innovation and shared vision.
- Create Inspiring Environments: Ensure learning spaces are inclusive, engaging, and tailored to children’s interests and developmental stages—where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to thrive.
You will ensure that all education and care programs align with approved curriculum frameworks, the National Quality Framework, current research, and innovative early learning practices.
The Ideal Candidate:

Leader eager to grow and inspire. Essential qualifications and attributes include:
- Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved)
- Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS, and contemporary early childhood pedagogy
- Proven experience in an educational leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support a team of educators
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Collaborative, proactive, and reflective approach to early childhood education
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC), First Aid, and CPR certification
We’re looking for an Assistant Director, and preferably some background as an Educational Leader. The ideal candidate will be able to act as a Responsible Person and work across a variety of shifts.
