The Archdiocese of Brisbane is currently seeking expressions of interest for a Finance Officer role within our Finance team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to financial processes, particularly in high-volume reconciliation environments.

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Officer plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely bank reconciliations across multiple accounts. This includes credit card and accounts payable reconciliations, as well as supporting compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations across various business units
• Investigate and resolve unreconciled items or discrepancies
• Reconcile corporate credit card transactions
• Maintain and reconcile AP clearing accounts (e.g., Telstra, BP)
• Identify opportunities to improve or automate reconciliation processes
• Support the Finance team in internal controls and compliance adherence

About You

• 2-5 years' experience in a similar finance role
• Skilled in high-volume reconciliations
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., TechnologyOne) and Excel
• Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Team player with a positive and proactive mindset
