Pastoral Associate – Toowong, Indooroopilly & St Lucia Parishes
Location: Toowong, Indooroopilly & St Lucia, Brisbane
Work Type: Permanent Part-Time 30 hours a week

Join a vibrant Catholic parish community spanning Toowong, Indooroopilly, and St Lucia. We’re seeking a committed and collaborative Pastoral Associate to support the mission of our parishes through coordination of pastoral and sacramental programs, faith formation, and community engagement.

About the Role
This key role supports the delivery of pastoral services across the three parishes. Working closely with clergy, parishioners, ministry groups, and volunteers, the Pastoral Associate will:

• Coordinate and lead sacramental preparation programs (Confirmation, Eucharist, and Penance)
• Assist with adult faith formation and spiritual development initiatives
• Support the RCIA process and the engagement of young people in parish life
• Participate in liturgical planning, including collaboration with music and liturgy teams
• Build strong relationships within the parish and broader community
• This position also involves general parish support tasks, including communication updates, collaboration with parish groups, and administration aligned with pastoral needs.

About You

You are a proactive with a heart for service and a strong ability to connect with people of all ages. You bring:

• Previous experience in parish pastoral ministry or a similar role
• Sound understanding of Catholic beliefs, traditions, and liturgical practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and confidence in managing programs and volunteers
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Essential Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in theology, religious education, or pastoral formation (or willingness to undertake training)
• A current Blue Card (or eligibility to obtain)
• A valid QLD driver’s licence (or ability to obtain one)
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed
• Police check – current or to be done
