Role Overview
The Business Analyst will support the uplift of software and systems across the business by working remotely to capture, analyse, and document existing processes, system connections, and workflows. The role focuses on understanding current manual and digital processes within a construction and engineering context to inform future system design and integration.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with stakeholders across Australia to map and document business processes and system workflows.
Analyse and document the interconnections between software systems, including manual interfaces and data flows.
Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities as part of the IT uplift program.
Develop clear and structured process maps, system diagrams, and functional documentation.
Support requirements gathering for software enhancements, integrations, and new implementations.
Assist in change management and training preparation by producing user guides and process documentation.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure accurate understanding of existing infrastructure, especially in Azure-hosted environments.
(Optional but valued) Assist in scripting, data extraction, or automation tasks as required to support process analysis or testing.
Required Systems/Software Knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong capability in process mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
Familiarity with construction ERP systems (e.g. Jobpac, Procore, CHEOPS) and engineering project management tools.
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services (basic level acceptable, advanced preferred).
(Bonus) Familiarity with Power BI, Power Apps, or scripting (Python, PowerShell) for data analysis and process automation.
Qualifications / Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields.
(desirable) Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent.
(desirable) ITIL Foundation certification.
(Bonus) Project Management certification.
Microsoft certifications (e.g. Azure Fundamentals AZ-900) are highly regarded.
Relevant Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Business Analyst working on systems and process improvement projects.
Experience capturing and analysing business processes in construction, engineering, or related project-based industries.
Exposure to construction finance processes (cost management, invoicing, progress claims) is advantageous.
Demonstrated experience working remotely with geographically dispersed stakeholders.
Experience documenting system integrations and data flows, especially in environments with significant manual processes.
The role is part of the Business Systems department within the Finance function at RSGx, this role reports directly to the Business Systems and Data Migration Manager.
