About the role:

A Class 5 Linehaul Driver is required for a 5 day a week run operating on a round trip between Christchurch and Blenheim. Your week starts Sunday evening and finishes Friday morning,

Responsibilities:

• Operate a Class 5 heavy combination vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Complete scheduled linehaul trips between depots.
• Complete vehicle safety checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Comply with NZTA, Waka Kotahi, WorkSafe and company health and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery documentation and vehicle records.
• Ensure freight is handled carefully and delivered on time.
• Communicate effectively with Operations, dispatch teams and customers.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle.
• Manage fatigue appropriately and comply with driving hours and rest requirements.
• Provide a professional and customer-focused service. 

What We Offer:

• Full Time, 50 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday between 8:30pm  and 6:30am in Christchurch!!

What You Bring:

• Current Class 5 Driver Licence with a clean or satisfactory driving record.
• Previous linehaul/freight or logistics industry experience
• Experience with B-trains, truck-and-trailer combinations
• The ability to confidently and competently reverse and dock B-Train and Truck and Trailer combinations
• Experience operating heavy combination vehicles and trailers.
• Strong knowledge of road safety and NZ driving regulations.
• Understanding of logbook, driving hours and fatigue management requirements.
• Ability to safely load, secure and transport freight.
• Good time management and ability to meet scheduled delivery times.
• Ability to complete vehicle pre-start checks and report defects.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with dispatch and operations teams.
• Reliable, punctual and responsible work attitude.
• Ability to work independently, including long-distance and overnight driving where required.
• Good physical fitness for duties involving freight handling, where applicable.
• Strong customer service and professional communication skills.
• Commitment to health and safety and following company procedures.
