About the role:

Join our IT Shared Services team on a 6-month fixed term contract and play a key role in managing and improving our on-premises and cloud infrastructure. You’ll provide advanced technical support, drive system upgrades, and ensure the security and reliability of critical platforms across two data centres and multiple business systems. This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver robust, scalable solutions for a fast-paced logistics and transport environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Maintain and enhance IT infrastructure – including servers, networks, storage, and cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure).  
• Administer core systems – Active Directory, Intune, O365, and enterprise applications (TMS, WMS, FMIS).  
• Manage patching and security – proactively apply updates, monitor vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance.  
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues – across infrastructure, networking, and applications.  
• Support projects and deployments – assist with migrations, upgrades, and new technology rollouts.  
• Collaborate and communicate effectively – with stakeholders, vendors, and the IT team to meet SLAs and deliver quality outcomes.

What you Bring:  

• Relevant experience in a Systems Engineer or similar L2/L3 role within a large multisite organisation.
• Strong technical skills in Windows Server, virtualization (Hyper-V), telephony, networking (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, wi-fi), and cybersecurity.
• Hands-on experience with O365 administration, Intune, and identity platforms (AD/Entra ID).
• Familiarity with monitoring and management tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions and disaster recovery planning
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Azure, ITIL) and a proactive approach to learning new technologies.
