About the role:
This role involves supporting and maintaining applications to meet SLAs, including testing, debugging, and development. It also includes transferring application knowledge to the IT Help Desk to improve support. Responsibilities cover new and existing software development, integrating new applications, and optimizing reporting systems. The role supports business performance reporting aligned with modern BI standards, and involves working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, recommend solutions, and ensure changes are tested and approved. Additional duties include planning system upgrades, ensuring data security, and adhering to IT policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Applications Support:
- Provide technical support and maintenance for nominated company applications.
- Investigate problems with software applications, diagnose root causes, and deliver resolutions.
- Support and manage customer issues and requests via the Help Desk within the agreed SLA’s.
- Provide on-site technical support to applications.
- Maintain current state documentation of nominated applications.
Development: - Develop solutions to business requirements, ensure they are tested thoroughly, agreed by the business and all change control managed to agreed processes.
- Define technical specifications from user and business requirements and develop according to industry recognised standards.
- Work as part of a project team when required, liaising with the assigned Project Manager on project planning coordination, test plans and user acceptance testing.
- Document Business Requirements and Test Plans to appropriate standards and level of detail for assigned projects.
- Produce documented policies & procedures as required for solution development.
- Review and communicate policies and procedures with appropriate team members.
Testing & Quality Assurance: - Perform functional software tests based on use and environment.
- Assist in application enhancements, upgrades, and patches.
- Create and manage application specific and user training documentation.
- Analyse processes impacted by a project or activity which require testing.
- Record issues as they arise, and retest once resolved.
- Keep Applications Manager informed of issues and their resolution.
Communication: - Communicate professionally and effectively to relevant stakeholders regarding technical issues to user and/or customers as required.
- Prioritise and escalate issues effectively.
- Ensure work is carried out according to the agreed business priorities.
- Communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and service providers.
- Regularly communicate with Applications Manager, team members and support team on all issues impacting projects including deadlines.
- Provide regular updates on current project status.
Training: - As required provide users, existing and new, with training as applicable to their role and requirement.
What We Offer: - Full Time position, 40 per week, Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 5:00pm in Auckland!!

What you Bring: - Relevant IT experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with lateral thinking skills.
- Superior understanding and skills associated with data integration and transformation
- Experienced in working with ERP, Warehousing, and Transport Management Systems, including development and integration using API tools.
- Skilled in Visual Studio .NET technologies and integration frameworks.
- Proficient in SQL with experience in reporting and data visualization tools such as Power BI and SSRS.
- High standard of interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in working in a support role as well as new code development
- Strong time management and organisational skills
