Are you a junior billing accountant?  Do you have bankruptcy experience?   Would you like to work with a highly regarded consulting company in DC?     If so,  R & W Group has a great new opportunity.     One of our favorite corporate clients is looking for a Bankruptcy Billing Accountant.    In this role you would work on bankruptcy projects, particularly within the Mass Torts Practice, and be responsible for (but not limited to) preparing monthly fee statements and client invoices.  Responsibilities:

• Follow established billing processes to produce accurate and timely monthly fee statements, invoice proposals, and client invoices.
• Work directly with Practice teams to help review project time records, process narrative edits, and provide other edits as needed.
• Maintain project billing files.
• Assist with tracking dockets to ensure compliance with deadlines and certificates of no objection.
• Maintain timekeeper team, billing rates and instructions, and other necessary information.
• Handle complex billing with multiple funding sources; process e-billing through client e-billing portals.
• Compile ad hoc analysis on large matters to help manage work in process (WIP), AR, and collections. Work directly with Project and Practice Managers, providing succinct analysis of project status, including time and expense record inquiries and collection efforts.
• Communicate internally with staff to ensure client bills meet requirements and facilitate timely collections.
• Review cash receipts to ensure accurate payment applications and holdbacks that relate to the bankruptcy projects.

 
Required

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field required.
• 4+ years bankruptcy billing experience in a professional services environment required.
• Knowledge of accounting required.
• Ability to work successfully individually and as a member of a team.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience working with Microsoft D365 and/or other ERP accounting systems, required.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks, handle tight deadlines, work well under pressure, and prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at the firm.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• May require more than 40.0 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.

 
Solid compensation of $85 - $105K (DOE).  This position is also eligible for bonus compensation on a discretionary basis.
