Are you tired of working in DC?    Are you a litigation legal assistant?   Would you like to work with a top mid-sized law firm in suburban Maryland?    If so, R & W Group has a great new opportunity!    One of our favorite clients is looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant to join the Litigation Department in Rockville/Bethesda.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys specializing in employment law and/or litigation.
• Handle electronic filing (e-filing) and service of court documents in both state and federal courts in Maryland, DC and Virginia.
• Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, litigation dates and reminders.
• Type and proofread legal documents, including all types of pleadings and correspondence.
• Manage and organize case files, ensuring all relevant documents, including discovery, are properly filed and easily accessible.
• Coordinate with clients, court personnel, and other parties involved in litigation.
• Maintenance of digital and physical files.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, hearings, and other appointments.
• Assist attorneys as needed with administrative support.

 
Qualifications and Skills:

• 5+ years of assistant/secretarial or administrative support experience in an employment or litigation department/practice.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and court rules related to litigation.
• E-filing of pleadings in both state and federal courts in Maryland, DC and Virginia.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort and skill in speaking with clients.
• Proficient in technology, Microsoft Office (and in particular expertise in Microsoft Word) and document management software (experience in i-Manage beneficial), and able to effectively use other litigation software.
• Typing proficiency.
