Looking to step up in the commercial property space and own a key trust accounting function – without being buried in generic accounts work? This role offers a stable, detail-focused position within a quality commercial real estate environment, working closely with an asset management team in the CBD.

The opportunity:
As Commercial Trust Accountant, you’ll be responsible for the smooth, accurate and compliant running of the trust accounts across a commercial portfolio. This is a hands-on role where your work directly supports owners, tenants and the wider asset management team.
Key responsibilities include:

• Daily receipting and bank file uploads
• Daily bank and trust account reconciliations
• Daily landlord previews and payment runs
• Twice-weekly creditor payment runs
• Uploading and preparing new property and tenancy files
• Managing security deposits, including opening and closing IBD accounts
• Uploading and reconciling property budgets
• Updating lease renewal terms into the trust accounting system (Goat)
• Handling queries from the Asset Management team and assisting where required
• Scanning invoices to the offshore support team
• Uploading new contractors into Goat and EFTsure
• Uploading invoices as required

You’ll become the “go-to” person for all things trust accounting – keeping everything accurate, up to date and fully reconciled.
About you You’re organised, accurate and enjoy owning a process from end to end.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Experience in trust accounting (commercial or residential property) or strong property accounts experience
• High attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Confidence working with trust accounting software and online banking
• Strong time management skills and comfort with recurring daily/weekly deadlines
• Clear, professional communication and the ability to support Asset Managers with queries
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset – you like to fix issues, not just flag them
