Compact the roads. Control the traffic. Keep everyone safe.
Endurance Mining, with a dynamic new leadership team and fresh vision for commercial success, is positioned for growth and ready to unlock the full potential of our precious metals portfolio.
Endurance's Abra Mine is located approximately 220km north of Meekatharra, in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The underground mine represents one of the world's cleanest and largest lead-silver projects.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a Roller Operator / Traffic Controller to join our NPI & Projects team at Abra Mine Site on a FIFO roster. Reporting to the Working Supervisor/Grader Operator, you will operate compaction equipment and implement traffic management controls to support the maintenance, rehabilitation and construction of our gazetted gravel roads — delivering safe, compliant road infrastructure through effective pavement compaction and traffic control.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate smooth drum, padfoot, multi-tyred and vibrating rollers safely and efficiently to compact gravel pavements, road formations and associated infrastructure
- Monitor moisture and pavement conditions to achieve specified compaction standards
- Implement approved Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS), including establishing and removing temporary traffic control devices, signage and barriers
- Safely direct vehicle movements through active work zones and manage interactions between public road users, contractors and mobile plant
- Assist road maintenance crews with formation preparation, gravel placement and pavement stabilisation
- Identify and report road defects, and support flood damage repairs and emergency road restoration activities
- Conduct pre-start and shutdown inspections on rollers and traffic control equipment, and maintain accurate logbooks and maintenance reports
- Comply with all safety standards, complete risk assessments and Take 5s, and maintain safe separation between mobile plant, workers and vehicles
What You'll Bring - Minimum 2-3 years' experience operating rollers in mining, civil construction or road maintenance environments
- Experience implementing traffic management and traffic control activities
- Sound understanding of road maintenance and pavement compaction requirements
- Strong communication and public interaction skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in high-traffic environments
- Effective hazard identification and risk management capability
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Basic computer literacy for inspections, reporting and work orders
Essential Requirements - Current WA C Class Driver Licence (HR Licence desirable)
- Nationally Recognised Roller Operator Competency
- Traffic Controller Accreditation / Traffic Management Qualification
- Construction Induction White Card
- Ability to obtain and maintain site medical clearance
- National Police Clearance (where required)
- Ability to work outdoors in remote environments and adverse weather conditions
Who You Are You bring a steady hand to compaction work and a calm, clear head to traffic control. You're comfortable managing the public and mobile plant in the same breath, and you take real pride in delivering roads that are both well-built and safely accessed. You communicate clearly, stay alert to changing conditions, and are just as happy working solo as you are as part of a crew.
What We Offer - Full-time position based at Abra Mine Site, working within our NPI & Projects team
- A varied role combining hands-on plant operation with traffic management responsibility
- Be part of a business positioning itself as Australia's largest silver - lead producer
- FIFO 7/7 roster ex Perth or DIDO ex Meekatharra and surrounds
- Competitive, market related remuneration, based on experience
- Inclusion in our generous Short Term Incentive Program
