Endurance's Abra Mine is located approximately 220km north of Meekatharra, in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The underground mine represents one of the world's cleanest and largest lead-silver projects.
The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Paste Fill Leading Hand to join our Backfill team at Abra Mine Site on a rotating N/S roster. Reporting to the UGM and Backfill Superintendent/Engineer, you will lead a small crew responsible for the installation, maintenance, and works of underground Paste Fill infrastructure — including steel and poly reticulation, dump valves, and paste and vent kit walls.

Key Responsibilities
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all activities comply with site safety policies, and demonstrate a personal commitment to safety
- Participate in hazard identification and risk management processes, and proactively lead safety engagement programs with contractors
- Ensure thorough reporting and investigation of incidents to prevent reoccurrence, and drive continuous OHS improvement
- Operate in accordance with the Company's Safety and Health Policy and all site policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Lead the installation and maintenance of underground Paste Fill infrastructure, including steel and poly reticulation, dump valves, and paste and vent kit walls
- Conduct QAQC of reticulation installations and assist with other mine project work as required
- Complete daily run sheets and all relevant paperwork for new reticulation installs and line running, ensuring leaks are reported immediately
- Identify and drive opportunities to improve process, performance, and continuous improvement of paste fill operations
What You'll Bring - 3-5+ years' experience as a Leading Hand, with proven airleg and hand rock drill experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage small crews, with strong leadership and communication skills
- Willingness to train and mentor paste crew members
- Experience installing steel and poly paste reticulation, and paste and vent walls
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of work quality and housekeeping
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work safely and efficiently
- A positive attitude and the capacity to handle complex situations with a friendly, professional disposition
- Proven ability to foster close working relationships with employees and contractors, and to meet deadlines
Essential Requirements - HR licence
- Working at Heights certification
- Manual driver's licence
- Sound knowledge of site policies and procedures and the operation of underground mobile plant, including light vehicles, IT's, and flatbed trucks
- Use of air leg and handheld rock drills
- Ability to conduct pre-start paperwork on vehicles and mobile equipment
- Dogging or Riggers certificate
