Located approximately 220km north of Meekatharra in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia, our Abra underground mine represents one of the world's cleanest and largest lead-silver projects.
 
The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrician to join our maintenance department at our remote mining operation. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you'll be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems across our mine processing areas while providing support to other areas and trades as required.

You'll work with sophisticated electrical systems, high voltage equipment, and advanced control systems in one of Australia's most significant lead-silver operations.
 
What You'll Do
 
Electrical Maintenance & Operations:

• Conduct scheduled, unscheduled, and preventive maintenance on process and environmental equipment
• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, clean, repair, and reassemble electrical equipment including MCCs, motors, instruments, and valves
• Perform high voltage access and switching operations safely and efficiently
• Execute equipment compliance testing, condition monitoring, and preventative maintenance
• Maintain statutory records for all electrical equipment and systems

 Technical Problem Solving:

• Read and interpret flow diagrams, mechanical configuration drawings, and P&ID drawings
• Apply methodical and resourceful approach to fault-finding with high-quality reporting
• Coordinate with production and other departments for equipment functionality feedback
• Work with motor controls, instrumentation, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Utilise Pronto maintenance systems for asset management and historical reporting

What We're Looking For
 
Essential Qualifications:

• Electrical Trade Certificate with A Grade Electrical License
• High Voltage Switching Ticket
• High Risk Work License (Elevated Work Platform, Forklift)
• Current "C" Class Western Australian driver's license

Highly Desirable:

• St Johns Senior First Aid certificate
• Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets
• EWP, Forklift, and Dogman tickets
• Previous mining or remote site experience

Technical Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated fault-finding and diagnostic experience in industrial environments
• Advanced computer literacy including Pronto systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with motor controls, instrumentation, and PLC systems
• In-depth understanding of electrical legislation and standards
• Proven ability to carry out routine equipment inspections and condition monitoring
• Experience reading technical drawings and process documentation
