Current opportunity:
As a key part of our Accounting Services Team and part of our Tax & Business Consulting Services division the Consultant (Accounting Services) will be responsible for driving finance and accounting consulting assignments for a variety of businesses. This is an excellent opportunity to work with exceptional, passionate people who enjoy what they do and are committed to achieving outstanding results.
Reporting to a Director, you will be passionate about accounting and delivering great service to our clients. The role provides a clear path for someone looking into growing their career in accounting and finance.
The role:
Hands on participation in accounting and finance consulting assignments centred around:
- Virtual CFO
- Governance
- Management accounting and reporting, budgeting, forecasting
- Accounting software capabilities
- Processes, Procedures and Policies
- Risk Strategies and Registers
- Management of the Bookkeeping Team
- Mentoring of External Finance Teams
- Workshops and Training on Accounting, Financial Governance, Taxation and Risk topics
- Grant Management and Accounting
In this small supportive team, the role also requires:
- Preparation and review of various taxation and accounting compliance reports
- Assistance to the Senior Bookkeepers
- A range of administration functions for the business unit and the team
Your skills and experience: - Management Accounting experience in a senior role particularly management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, grant management, audit liaison
- Proficient with Xero and MYOB and add ons and expertise in using the Microsoft Suite package
- Proficient with payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, end of month process, end of financial year tasks, and other management reporting responsibilities
- Able to work autonomously and also work well within a team
- Willingness to be hands on with excellent problem solving skills
- Great communication skills when dealing with clients at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal English
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Able to travel to remote areas when required
- Bachelors or Masters degree with an accounting major from an Australian University or equivalent
- Commenced or completed CAANZ program / CPA Australia program or equivalent.
This is not an entry level role and extensive experience in management accounting and being a finance business partner to senior management is required.
This role is open to those with Australian Working Rights and residing or relocating to Darwin, NT.
