Automation Technician - Oilfield (New Mexico)Crossroads is hiring an experienced Automation Technician to support our growing operations in Southeast New Mexico. This is a hands-on field role for someone who can troubleshoot automation systems, support customers in the field, and deliver reliable solutions across upstream and midstream oil & gas facilities. What You'll Do
Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, RTUs, SCADA systems, and communication equipment
Connect to and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC inputs and outputs
Diagnose and repair wireless communication networks
Troubleshoot analog, digital, and Modbus devices
Program and modify existing PLC and RTU programs
Troubleshoot instrumentation and communication between master/slave devices
Work directly with operations teams to improve field performance and reliability
Communicate with customers regarding troubleshooting, repairs, and operational issues
Identify and resolve issues proactively in the field
Maintain strong communication internally and with customers
What You Bring (Must-Have)
5-10 years of oilfield automation experience
Strong experience programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining:
PLCs
RTUs
SCADA systems
Communication equipment
Experience with industrial automation platforms including:
Allen-Bradley
ABB
IDEC
Emerson ROC
and similar systems
Experience with HMI development and integration
Ability to interpret:
P&IDs
Electrical drawings
Control narratives
Shutdown keys
Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
Proven upstream oil & gas experience (required)
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
Nice to Have
Spanish language skills
Local to Carlsbad or Hobbs
Strong local network within the trades and oilfield industry
Compensation & Perks
$40-$55/hour(negotiable for the right candidate)
