Job Title: Buyer / Senior Buyer - Construction
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £45k - £50k per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
 
We're working with a well-established, profitable and credible sub-contractor in the construction industry who have a full order book of projects lined up for next year and going forwards.  They deliver high quality work and benefit from repeat business from Tier 1 contractors.  We are seeking a Buyer / Senior Buyer to strengthen their procurement and commercial function.  You'll have significant experience within a purchasing team in the construction industry and be looking for an exceptional opportunity to develop or progress into a Senior Buyer.
 
What you'll be doing as a key member of the purchasing team:

• Procurement of materials and subcontractor services for projects
• Maintain supplier relationships - evaluate performance, check compliance, resolve issues
• Work closely with site and commercial teams to align procurement to project requirements
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive procurement efficiencies

What you'll bring to the role:

• Significant experience in purchasing within the construction sector
• Good negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Strong organisational skills, able to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, pricing structures and suppliers
