Estimator
Salary: to £75k
Location: West Midlands
 
Our client, a strategically focussed and growing Groundwork Contractor, is looking for an experienced Estimator to lead their estimating function and help shape future pipeline of work.
You'll combine senior estimating responsibility with commercial strategy, tender management and proactive identification of the right opportunities for the business.
 
The Role

• Manage and review tenders from enquiry through to submission.
• Develop pricing and tender strategies.
• Lead tender settlement and commercial reviews.
• Assess commercial, contractual and operational risk.
• Own the Bid / No-Bid recommendation process.
• Ensure successful tenders are effectively handed over to operations.
• Monitor tender performance, conversion and margins.
• Identify and monitor relevant tender portals, frameworks and procurement platforms.
• Build and maintain a forward-looking 6-12 month opportunity pipeline.
• Identify suitable projects before they reach formal tender where possible.
• Develop targeted relationships with main contractors, developers and clients.

About You
You will have:

• Significant estimating experience in groundworks, civil engineering or construction.
• Strong commercial and pricing knowledge.
• Strong understanding of tender strategy and bid management.
• The ability to assess risk and make sound commercial decisions.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• A proactive, analytical and commercially minded approach.

Experience with tender portals, frameworks, construction intelligence platforms would be advantageous.
