Estimator - Groundworks & Construction
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 + Company Car + Pension + Holidays
Location: East Midlands
 
Are you an experienced Estimator looking to join a growing, family-oriented construction business where your expertise will directly influence project success?
 
We're seeking a driven and commercially minded Estimator to support both our Groundworks and Build divisions.
 
This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of a close-knit team, working on a diverse range of projects while helping secure and deliver high-quality construction schemes.
 
The Opportunity
 
As an Estimator, you'll be responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates, supporting tender submissions, and helping the business win profitable work. Working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and project teams, you'll play a crucial role from enquiry through to project award.
 
What You'll Be Doing
 

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and project documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates
• Producing accurate cost breakdowns covering labour, materials, plant and overheads
• Obtaining and negotiating competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Collaborating with project managers and clients to understand project scope and requirements
• Supporting tender submissions and bid preparation
• Identifying value engineering and cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety
• Monitoring market trends and pricing to ensure estimates remain competitive
• Maintaining accurate records of estimates, quotations and project information

 
What We're Looking For
 

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
• Strong understanding of estimating principles, cost control and tendering processes
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively
• Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related qualifications are advantageous but not essential
