As a Buyer in the construction industry you will:

• Use your excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to build relationships and manage suppliers, negotiate prices and place orders
• Manage the day-to-day project procurement of materials
• Liaise with the on-site teams to source the most cost-effective materials
• Monitor the performance, quality, prices and development of suppliers
• Ensure health and safety compliance
• Identify new potential suppliers and products
• Prepare quotations and proposals
• Attend team meetings and site visits
• Prepare and maintaining cost reports to maximise efficiency

• Knowledge of aggregates, asphalt, concreate and drainage purchasing, either through a buying role or experience at a merchants
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and the site teams
