A well established, family-friendly, flexible and supportive company are expanding their team and looking for an experienced Tier 2 Engineer.  You’ll be passionate about providing outstanding technical support and eager to make a difference.  We're looking for a friendly and proactive Second Tier Engineer to join a Service Desk Team in the West Midlands. As a Tier 2 Engineer, you'll be a point of contact for customers, helping them resolve their technical issues quickly and efficiently.  You’ll also get the opportunity to be involved in project work.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support Calls: Answer support calls and provide a friendly, helpful service. Effectively manage your tickets, ensuring updates are correct, clear and concise.
• Issue Resolution: Provide excellent customer service on the phone and remotely to determine and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Proactive Monitoring: Monitor systems for offline servers and critical issues. Monitor client backups and resolve backup solution issues.
• Enviable opportunity to work with some exciting clients: Work with some high-profile clients. This will require a level of flexibility to support out of hours and weekend work.  Agreed overtime is paid at time and a half.
• Other Duties: Perform other technical-related duties/project support

Your Skills & Experience

• Technical Expertise: Windows Desktop Support, Microsoft Exchange Server and SQL Server Support, Virtualisation concepts (ESXi and vSphere), Cisco Networking devices deployment and troubleshooting.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-Learning: Strong ability to self-learn and progress.
• Remote Support: Experience with Remote Desktop and Citrix.
• VPN Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot Client VPN and Site to Site VPN.
• Active Directory: Change passwords, update settings, create and delete users.
• Exchange Server: Create new users, update email addresses, change forwarding, check mailbox sizes.
