What Council Offers:
- 72.5-hour fortnight with roster variations depending on the position (9-day fortnight - RDOs in accordance with Council policy)

General Salary InformationThis position is classified as Level 3 under the Hinchinbrook Shire Council Local Government Officers (Stream A) Certified Agreement.
The salary is $78,260 per annum plus superannuation. $41.5171 per hour.
Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a passion for administrative excellence. You will have experience in clerical or office support roles, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. You’re confident using Microsoft Office, understand the importance of confidentiality, and enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment. Experience in Local Government or Infrastructure Services is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Asset Management Services team, including data entry, filing, photocopying, and document preparation.
- Assist with the coordination and tracking of work orders, maintenance requests, and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and databases in accordance with Council’s information management policies.
- Respond to internal and external enquiries in a professional and timely manner, providing information or directing queries as appropriate.
- Liaise with other departments, contractors, and community members to support infrastructure service delivery.

Mandatory: - Demonstrated experience in administrative or clerical work relevant to local government or asset management services;
- Sound knowledge of office procedures and practices, including document management, filing systems, and data entry;
- Competence in using standard office software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment;
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff, contractors, and the public;
- Ability to work under general direction, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines;
- Basic understanding of workplace health and safety responsibilities;
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately; and
- Current Queensland ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence (minimum P1).
Desirable: - Experience working in a local government environment;
- Familiarity with local government systems such as TechOne, ECM, or similar enterprise platforms; and
- Understanding of procurement and financial administration processes.
