The Opportunity
To ensure the continuity of a high level of customer service to our community, we are seeking a Community and Development Services Assistant to provide support within the Council Libraries and Gallery. To be successful, you’ll need strong customer service skills, enthusiasm, and motivation to help plan and deliver community events.
This role supports TYTO precinct customers by providing a positive experience and assisting with the use of library, gallery, and Council facilities, resources, and services. You’ll offer basic help with public computers and the library catalogue, while using strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a diverse customer base and various stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications:
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills suited to a customer service environment;
- Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of Council’s services and activities;
- Sound ability in the use of Microsoft Word and adaptability to learn new systems;
- Ability to provide a range of administration duties and responsibilities; and
- Flexible approach to tasks and willingness to undertake a range of duties.

General Salary Information Level 2 $68,134 - $36.15 per hour (prorata for part time plus superannuation)
Pre-employment Screening Pre-employment screening includes Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and Criminal History Checks to ensure capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Applicants must be able to safely and competently carry out manual handling activities. The position will require the employee to carry out physical tasks which may include manual handling, repetitive bending, kneeling, twisting and/or squatting.
