This is a Recruitment Pool for consistent Casual and On-Call positions, with an immediate, critical need for officers who can commit to weekend shifts.

Urgent Need for Weekend Healthcare Security Professionals! We are currently seeking experienced and skilled individuals to join our team for on-call and consistent Security Officer roles across Perth's major healthcare facilities. Right now, our highest priority is securing reliable officers to cover demanding weekend shifts.
As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference by safeguarding patients, staff, and visitors. Successful applicants will be considered for various roles ranging from ad-hoc assignments to consistent response positions.
Your duties as a Healthcare Security Officer include: - Dedicated Patient Sits: Perform continuous one-to-one observation of high-risk, vulnerable, or volatile patients, providing direct and immediate support to nursing and medical staff.
- Code Black Response: Act as a critical first responder to hospital emergencies, including identifying escalating threats, initiating, and rapidly responding to "Code Black" (personal threat/aggression) incidents.
- High-Risk Patient Management: Closely monitor and manage patients admitted with complex needs—including sensitive mental health episodes, substance abuse, severe agitation, or self-harm behaviors—with vigilance and empathy.
- Frontline Clinical Support: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with healthcare staff during high-stress interventions, ensuring a safe clinical environment for nurses and doctors to administer care.
- Proactive De-escalation & Restraint: Expertly handle aggressive or violent behavior using advanced verbal de-escalation, applying safe, hands-on control and restraint techniques only as a necessary last resort.
- High-Level Physical Readiness: Maintain the physical stamina required for highly demanding 12-hour shifts (day or night), including the ability to rapidly deploy across the hospital, safely lift 40kg+, and engage in physically demanding push/pull restraint activities.
Upcoming Works (Local and Regional): Vault is rapidly expanding its healthcare security team, offering the chance for increased and reliable employment in metropolitan and regional locations throughout Western Australia.
Candidates with weekend availability will be highly prioritized for immediate placement. If you are interested in a specific region, mention this in your application.
Selection Criteria: - Weekend Availability: Must be highly available and willing to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts (days and nights).
- Certificate II in Security Operations and at least two years’ experience in security (or related field) with demonstrated experience conducting security operations.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including active listening, conflict resolution, empathy, and de-escalation techniques in stressful situations.
- Effective written communication skills to produce well-structured and comprehensive reports.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision within a team environment.
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with people from culturally diverse backgrounds, mental health issues, and people with disabilities.
- Willing and able to work across Joondalup, Royal Perth, Bentley, Armadale, Fremantle, Rockingham, and Mandurah.
Skills and Qualifications Required: - Valid WA Security Officer licence.
- Valid First Aid qualification.
- Right to work in Australia.
- Working With Children's card (or willingness to obtain).
- Infection Control Training (or willingness to obtain).
- Vaccination history or serology evidence of immunity (or willingness to obtain).
- Proficient in self-defence techniques and a demonstrated minimum fitness level.
- 2 years’ experience in a response-level position in crowd control or another relevant role.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality.
Highly Regarded (Not Essential): - Defence Force experience.
- Mental health awareness training.
- Strong Healthcare Security or Crowd Control experience.
- Medical, Aged Care, or Youth Worker background.
