As a Financial Crime Analyst at Equity Trustees, you'll play a hands-on role in protecting our clients, our business and the broader community by detecting, investigating and helping prevent financial crime across our operations. This is a role where sharp analytical thinking meets real-world impact, and where your work directly contributes to the integrity of one of Australia's most trusted financial services organisations.
Sitting within our Enterprise Risk team and reporting to the Senior Manager Financial Crime, you will maintain key AML financial crime processes across our CTS, STS and TWS business units — executing financial crime processes, monitoring client activities, and supporting investigations to detect and prevent financial crime.
What you'll do:
- Conduct daily transaction monitoring and alert reviews, investigating and escalating unusual activity in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
- Perform customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD) and ongoing client risk assessments, including support for onboarding and periodic reviews of high-risk clients
- Assist in the preparation and filing of Reportable Matters to AUSTRAC, maintaining accurate records of all reviews and decisions
- Provide subject matter expertise on financial crime risks to internal stakeholders and collaborate with Relationship Managers and Compliance teams to resolve queries
- Monitor AUSTRAC communications and regulatory updates to ensure financial crime processes remain current and effective
- Support the delivery of financial crime training for internal and external stakeholders and contribute to audit and compliance testing activities
What you'll need to succeed: - Solid experience in AML or financial crime operations within financial services or wealth management
- Strong working knowledge of AML/CTF regulations, including AUSTRAC requirements and FATF guidelines
- Experience with transaction monitoring systems and case management tools, with high attention to detail
- Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the confidence to engage across teams and with external stakeholders
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with a genuine commitment to continuous improvement and best practice governance
- Tertiary qualification in Business or Commerce; AML certification such as ACAMS or a Graduate Certificate in Financial Crime is highly desirable
What we offer: - A warm, open, and supportive culture
- An attractive remuneration package, including reward and recognition programs
- An employee wellness program, including discounted health insurance and an employee assistance program
- A workplace volunteering and giving program to enable you to help others in the community
