Are you an experienced investment professional with a passion for portfolio construction, risk management, and delivering innovative investment solutions? We're looking for a Head of Portfolio Construction and Risk to join our Asset Management team, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing multi-asset investment strategies while enhancing our risk management framework.
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, this newly created role offers the opportunity to influence strategic investment decisions, develop tailored portfolio solutions for diverse client cohorts, and strengthen the risk capabilities that support Equity Trustees' growing Asset Management business. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, investment managers, consultants, and service providers to deliver high-quality outcomes for our clients.
What you'll do:
- Lead the portfolio construction and implementation of multi-asset investment solutions, including the development of tailored model portfolios for specific client cohorts
- Perform detailed asset allocation modelling and develop capital market assumptions to support Strategic Asset Allocation decisions and long-term client outcomes
- Research, evaluate and select investment managers, strategies and products across asset classes to meet investment objectives
- Contribute as a voting member of the Asset Allocation Committee and provide insights to strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions
- Review and enhance the Asset Management Risk Framework, including the development of improved portfolio risk measurement and reporting capabilities
- Assess and support the implementation of risk management systems and processes to strengthen investment governance and oversight
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external clients, consultants and service providers to support the successful delivery of investment solutions
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory obligations, risk management frameworks and company policies
What you'll need to succeed: - 10+ years' experience in investment management, portfolio construction, asset allocation or a related funds management discipline
- Demonstrated expertise across investment markets and portfolio management, including a strong understanding of fixed income and multi-asset investment strategies
- Experience developing capital market assumptions, managing asset allocation frameworks and assessing risk and return outcomes
- Experience in investment manager research and selection, or the ability to critically assess investment solutions and opportunities
- Strong knowledge of investment risk management frameworks, systems and reporting methodologies
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility across a broad range of audiences
- Experience presenting investment capabilities and recommendations to senior stakeholders and clients
- A continuous improvement mindset, strong analytical capability and a collaborative, team-focused approach
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, business, finance, law or a related discipline
