This is a hands-on, specialist role where you'll translate governance frameworks into practical controls, configure tools like Microsoft Purview, and act as a trusted adviser to stakeholders navigating the complexities of information risk and compliance. If you're passionate about governance, love solving complex problems, and want to make a tangible impact on how a trusted organisation manages its information, this role is for you.
What you'll do:
- Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and provide guidance to internal teams

- Partner with Data Owners and Stewards to identify data sets, document ownership, and apply governance rules across the business
- Configure and manage governance controls within Microsoft Purview, including data classification labels, retention schedules, DLP policies, and compliance assessments
- Assess and document information-related risks, ensuring governance standards align with regulatory, privacy, and risk obligations
- Produce clear, insightful reporting for Technology leadership, business stakeholders, and audit processes
- Facilitate workshops and guidance sessions to uplift business capability in information governance
- Collaborate across Technology, Risk, Legal, and Business units to embed consistent governance practices
What you'll need to succeed: - Experience in data governance, risk, privacy or compliance within a regulated or complex environment
- Strong understanding of regulatory and privacy obligations, with the ability to apply them practically
- Experience using governance tooling, with exposure to Microsoft Purview or similar platforms advantageous
- Proven ability to influence and advise stakeholders without direct authority
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and written communication skills, including producing governance artefacts
- Relevant professional experience and tertiary qualifications highly regarded
What we offer: - A warm, open, and supportive culture
- An attractive remuneration package, including reward and recognition programs
- An employee wellness program, including discounted health insurance and an employee assistance program
- A workplace volunteering and giving program to enable you to help others in the community
- We are proud to be part of the Top 30 Best Workplaces to Giveback 2024
- Discounted tax and estate planning services
- 16 weeks paid parental leave for the primary carer
- Great central CBD location, modern office fit-out and end-of-trip facilities
- Flexible/Hybrid working environment
