- Fixed Term (until end of 2026)
Lead primary research and ongoing monitoring for managed fund approvals across third-party platform super funds. This is a high-impact role where you'll drive rigorous investment analysis, deliver clear risk insights, and make evidence-based recommendations that shape investment decisions for our members.
Reporting to the Head of Investment Governance, you'll take ownership of the entire investment lifecycle—from conducting deep-dive due diligence on new managed funds and ETFs to maintaining ongoing monitoring across our coverage universe. You'll prepare concise investment memos for the Investment Committee, run structured quarterly reviews, identify early warning signals, and lead remediation actions when needed. This is a specialist role ideal for someone who thrives on analytical rigour, loves simplifying complex findings, and wants to make a tangible contribution to investment governance excellence.
What you'll do: - Lead bottom-up due diligence on managed funds, ETFs and TDPs, assessing people, process, philosophy, performance, risk, fees, ESG and liquidity
- Prepare clear investment memos for the Investment Committee with well-framed recommendations, risks, and mitigants
- Maintain coverage universe and run structured quarterly reviews on performance, risk metrics, factor exposures and style drift
- Identify early warning indicators such as team turnover, process drift, capacity stress or mandate breaches
- Build and interpret performance and risk dashboards using Morningstar Direct and internal data
- Lead remediation actions including fee negotiations, transition planning and watch/terminate recommendations
- Engage platform providers on approval requests, data quality, reporting timeliness and product actions
What you'll need to succeed: - Solid experience in manager research, multi-asset/manager selection, or platform investments within superannuation or asset owner environments
- Strong capability with Morningstar Direct (research centre, performance/risk modules, custom universes) and Excel/Power Query for analysis
- Familiarity with APRA standards and guidance (SPS 530, SPS 515, SPGs) and super platform dynamics
- Tertiary degree in Finance or Economics; CFA/CAIA progress or completion desirable
- Superior investment judgment with crisp writing and executive-level communication skills
- Analytical rigour paired with curiosity and a bias-to-action on remediation
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and simplify complex findings

- An attractive remuneration package, including reward and recognition programs
- An employee wellness program, including discounted health insurance and an employee assistance program
