We are seeking a hands-on leader to manage the custody operations for a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple asset classes, including real assets, debt, credit, loans, cash, and securities. This role leads a high-performing team responsible for safeguarding assets, processing cash payments, managing reconciliations, and delivering accurate reporting for both Custody and Debt & Securitisation services.

About the Role
- Lead and manage custody operations, ensuring safe custody of assets and compliance with RG133.
- Oversee asset settlements through systems such as CHESS and Austraclear and maintain accurate records in NAV One.
- Manage cash payments for custodian and Debt & Securitisation clients, ensuring SLAs are met.
- Perform asset and bank reconciliations and deliver mandated reporting to regulators and government bodies.
- Oversee operational tasks including opening bank accounts, setting up new clients, and resolving incidents.
- Act as liaison for auditors and provide information for audits and controls testing.
- Drive process and control improvements and be a major contributor to transformation change to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on client service and operational excellence.
What You'll Need to Succeed - Significant experience in custody operations preferably within the funds management or superannuation sector.
- Strong knowledge of RG133 and related regulations.
- Proven ability to implement improved processes and controls and enhance operational processes.
- Well-developed leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, or similar (post-grad qualifications highly regarded).
