The Dafydd Lewis Trust is testamentary trust established in 1943, upon the death of Mr Dafydd Lewis, a self-made businessman who believed in education and hard work. He created the trust to give future generations of deserving young men the benefit of a university education.
The Dafydd Lewis Scholarship is an equity and merit-based scholarship available to young men who might not have otherwise received a university education due to the limited financial resources of their parents. Multiple scholarships are awarded every year for full-time degrees at universities in Victoria.
The Mary Jane Lewis Scholarship Foundation was established in 2004 and named in honour of the second wife of Dafydd Lewis. The Foundation’s growth has come from the generous support of Dafydd Lewis alumni and other donors who share a similar passion for the education and advancement of exceptional, yet financially disadvantaged, young women in Victoria.
Equity and merit-based scholarships are available for young women to undertake courses at universities in Victoria. The foundation exists to give talented, hardworking women a chance to pursue their educational dreams.
Both trusts are managed by Equity Trustees. The Scholarships Program Coordinator role will have direct communication with Equity Trustees and reports to the Chairs of both trusts, which are volunteer positions.
