In this key role, reporting to the Lead, you will be responsible for delivering trustee services and ensuring the effective oversight of the Trusts. This includes acting as the Trustee’s representative for the major trust and coordinating operational, administrative, logistical, and compliance functions. The role also involves cultivating and sustaining strong relationships with Aboriginal Corporations, as well as external service providers such as legal and financial advisers.

About The Role 

• Engage directly with client communities, traditional owners, and beneficiaries, including in-person visits, to build and maintain strong, respectful professional relationships.
• Coordinate, prepare for, and attend meetings with client groups to ensure effective communication and outcomes.
• Present trustee-related information to decision-making committees and relevant stakeholder groups in a clear, culturally appropriate manner.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of trust activities.
• Proactively manage complaints and disputes, ensuring timely resolution or escalation when required.
• Implement and follow established processes and procedures to meet the operational needs of the Trusts.
• Ensure all activities comply with legislative, regulatory, and organisational policies, including accurate budget management and reporting.

What You'll Need To Succeed

• Tertiary qualifications in finance, business, or law are highly desirable.
• Experience working with Aboriginal communities, their representative bodies, and not-for-profit organisations.
• Proven experience in governance, project coordination, or providing executive/secretariat support within a trust or financial service context.
• Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to navigate complex and sensitive discussions with professionalism and a high level of conflict resolution capability.
• Exceptional organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Empathy, resilience, and cultural sensitivity.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
