One MES standard, two continents, every plant. A Texas-based seat owning global architecture, vendor strategy and multi-million CapEx.
MES Director - Global Digital Manufacturing
Location: Richardson, Texas
Full-time, on-site, 25-35% domestic and international travel
Our client is a global electronics manufacturer with plants across North America, Europe and Asia, building for aerospace and defense, medical device, and data center customers. They are bringing those factories onto one standard. Right now MES architecture varies site by site, and this role exists to end that.
You'll own the global MES strategy and standard architecture across every North American and European site, with the governance frameworks, SOPs and deployment templates that make it stick. The mandate is explicit: replace local customization with scalable, repeatable builds, and hold the line on them.
Day to day, you'll direct full-lifecycle MES implementations across a diverse factory footprint on two continents, and drive the convergence of MES with ERP/SAP, PLM and the automation layer of SCADA and PLC. You'll own the manufacturing data architecture that feeds advanced analytics, predictive maintenance and quality tracking. You'll negotiate enterprise contracts and SLAs with the cloud provider, foundation software vendors and systems integrators, and you'll keep every platform inside CGP, ITAR, FDA/ISO 13485 and NIST requirements.
You'll lead a geographically dispersed team of MES engineers, project managers and business analysts across time zones, and spend real energy aligning plant managers and executive stakeholders on why the standard is worth adopting.
This suits an IT/OT leader with 15+ years in digital factory environments, 7+ leading multi-site, multi-country deployments, and genuine operating experience on both sides of the Atlantic. Multi-million CapEx ownership and travel of 25-35% come with it.
