Vice President of Business Development

Our client is a leading commercial construction firm based in South Florida, and they are seeking a Vice President of Business Development to lead growth across the Miami-Dade and Broward County private sector markets.

Location: Miami / Broward, FL, in-office role

On-site / Local Market Focus
The role involves owning the full business development lifecycle—from market research and relationship building to proposal development and strategic positioning. The VP will collaborate with internal teams and executive leadership to drive expansion in sectors like multifamily, high-rise, healthcare, hospitality, and retail.

Key Responsibilities Market Strategy & Project Pursuit

• Develop targeted BD strategies for South Florida’s private sector.
• Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to drive proactive pursuit planning.

Client Relationship Management

• Cultivate relationships with developers, owners, architects, and consultants.
• Attend events and industry engagements to build visibility.
• Channel client feedback to improve service delivery.

Internal Leadership

• Lead BD meetings, report on pipeline progress, and ensure strategic alignment with leadership.
• Shape the firm's positioning within the local market.

Proposal & Presentation Oversight

• Oversee RFQ/RFP submissions, proposal content, and marketing collateral.
• Partner with estimating and marketing teams on high-quality deliverables.
• Lead presentations to effectively communicate the firm's value proposition.

Branding & Outreach

• Strengthen market presence via community involvement and sponsorships.
• Align PR and social media strategy with branding efforts.

Requirements

• 10+ years in construction business development, focused on private sector markets.
• Strong network within Miami’s development community.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
• CRM and proposal software experience (Cosential ideal).
• Construction operations experience is a plus.
