Outstanding opportunity for an experienced Transaction Manager (Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable) to join a £250m+ t/o award winning group near Bolton. Joining the business in a newly created role to head and develop the current AP & AR teams, you remit will be to establish a modern and efficient transaction processing function required to meet the needs of this rapidly expanding business. In this pivot role your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the end-to-end Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Credit control aspects of the business.
- Heading the Transaction team – currently comprising 8 permanent and temporary staff across AP & AR.
- Leading and developing the team to establish a modern and effective function that meets the current and rapidly evolving demands of the business.
- Establishing clearly defined roles and ensuring legacy manual processes can be automated where possible and any duplicated duties can be consolidated.
- Providing coaching and training to support team growth and capability.
- Developing best practice controls, processes and procedures across all areas of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to maximise operational efficiency.
- Working to reduce query generation and delivering an exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Setting team performance expectations to ensure accountability and high performance.
- Restructuring the existing team and expanding the team as required.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to support smooth financial operations.
- Collaborate with IT and finance project managers on system enhancements, Dynamics Business Central 365 optimisation.
- Implementing standard operating procedures and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Producing regular KPI dashboards, aged debt/creditor reports, cash collection forecasts, and performance insights.
Applicants must be experienced Transaction Managers with a background of establishing high calibre AP & AR teams. This business has grown at pace so there needs to be changes made in the current AP & AR controls, processes and procedures to meet current and future needs, so applicants with experience of developing AP & AR functions in large, rapidly expanding businesses will be of particular interest – as will applicants who are familiar with Dynamics Business Central 365 and its capabilities to make the transactional process more effective or automated. You will be a proven leader and someone who can inspire and develop teams to deliver optimum results and who can develop an ethos/culture of continuous improvement.
