Our client, an award-winning custom manufacturer serving the U.S. military and global defense sector, is seeking a Commercial Contract Specialist to join their team in Bristol, PA.
This newly created, hands-on role will play a central part in managing the full contract lifecycle across commercial, government, and international agreements. Reporting to executive leadership, the Contract Specialist will help drive contract performance, ensure compliance, and support critical defense programs with high visibility and long-term stability.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, coachable, and knowledgeable in both commercial and defense-related environments. You’re confident pushing for information, navigating internal roadblocks, and moving contracts forward from proposal through payment. You’ll be expected to read contracts closely, communicate clearly, and take ownership of follow-ups, amendments, export controls, property management, and document submissions with minimal delegation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and redline commercial and international contract terms and conditions to ensure alignment with company policies and risk tolerance.
- Assist in preparing proposals and quotations, ensuring timely submission of customer-facing materials.
- Interface with U.S. Government Contracting Officers, prime contractors, and international partners to maintain relationships and resolve issues.
- Follow up with internal teams to drive approvals, collect required documentation, and support timely execution of new contracts and amendments.
- Maintain complete contract files, including correspondence, compliance records, and supporting documentation.
- Support invoice submittals, track payments, and provide status updates on accounts receivable.
- Monitor export licenses, government property, and permit expiration dates; assist in renewals and compliance activities.
- Participate in internal and external audits; recommend and support process improvements.
- Ensure adherence to all contract-related regulations including FAR, DFARS, and ITAR.
- Support transition of institutional knowledge from retiring staff and contribute to long-term contract department development.
Requirements: - 5–8 years of experience with commercial contracts in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the defense sector.
- Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, government-furnished equipment (GFE), and government-owned equipment and property (GFP).
- Experience reviewing and redlining terms such as warranty, indemnity, limitation of liability, risk of loss, and payment terms.
- Familiarity with ITAR/export compliance is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities in a high-volume, detail-heavy role.
- Excellent communication, follow-up, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with contract management systems a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain security clearance.
Location: Bristol, PA
Onsite Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Salary Range: $100K+ depending on experience
