Our client, a leading distributor of specialty metals, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join their team in Bensalem, PA.
This is a relationship-driven, on-the-road sales role focused on growing existing accounts and developing new business across the Northeast territory (from Massachusetts to Delaware). You'll represent the company in person, visiting client sites, attending industry events, and building long-term partnerships that drive revenue. Expect to be on the road approximately 50% of the time and comfortable staying in hotels during weekly travel. When not traveling, you’ll collaborate closely with the inside sales and operations teams to ensure high-level service and account follow-through.
The ideal candidate will be personable, polished, and proactive, with familiarity in distribution, metals, or manufacturing. You enjoy face-to-face interaction, take ownership of your territory, and have a proven track record of account growth and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, grow, and maintain strong relationships with existing customers across the Northeast U.S., ensuring ongoing satisfaction and account expansion.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Travel weekly to visit customers onsite, conduct meetings, and attend relevant industry events.
- Entertain and engage current and potential customers to strengthen rapport and ensure future business.
- Collaborate with vendors and management to stay informed on product offerings and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with the inside sales team to ensure smooth quote follow-up and order management.
- Conduct field inspections of defective materials, document issues, and work with internal quality and sales teams to resolve them.
- Analyze sales data and contribute to pricing and strategic account decisions.
- Identify and recommend new products, customers, and programs to enhance territory growth.
- Submit timely reports including call summaries, vendor interactions, and expense documentation.
- Proactively communicate with customers on order status and delivery updates.
- Support a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer-first mindset.
Requirements: - 5+ years of outside sales or account management experience
- Experience in distribution, metals, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Proven ability to grow and manage accounts over time.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to "read the room," build trust, and close business in person.
- Comfortable with weekly travel and overnight stays (approximately 50% overnight travel).
- Working knowledge of quoting, pricing strategies, and ERP/CRM systems.
- Solid math skills (percentages, markups, scrap rates).
- Familiarity with the Sandler Sales Methodology is a plus.
Salary: $100,000–$115,000 base and yearly annual bonus
Location: Bensalem, PA (hybrid—onsite when not traveling)
