Our client, a leading international manufacturer of advanced flight training simulators, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their engineering team onsite in Southampton, PA.
In this role, you’ll design and enhance complex electrical systems, creating detailed electrical drawing packages for cutting-edge simulators, including human centrifuges that prepare pilots to withstand up to 15 Gs, training pilots across military, civil, space flight, and aeromedical fields!
You’ll work with stand-alone and distributed I/O, SCADA, and network-based control systems, integrating a variety of high-tech equipment. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical design for industrial or custom machinery, with strong skills in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical for creating and modifying schematics, including panel assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and control system schematics.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and modify electrical systems and control panels, including panel assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and control system schematics, using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Customize electrical drawings to meet specific machine and client requirements, adjusting the final 20-30% as needed.
- Identify and resolve issues in existing designs; recommend, implement, and document approved changes.
- Apply engineering principles to enhance and evaluate electrical and electro-mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, UL508A).
- Collaborate with the mechanical design team and production teams, providing support during machinery assembly and integration phases.
- Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) for electrical components.
- Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation, contributing new ideas and completing tasks independently.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in electrical design, ideally focused on machinery or equipment.
- Proficient with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical
- Understanding of UL standards
- Experience in machinery assembly and control panel design is a plus.
- Knowledge of PLC control systems and control panel design is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic grounding principles is a plus.
- Ability to provide samples of electrical drawings preferred
Salary: 80,000 - 115,000
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8a-5pm
