About the role In this Principal Solutions Architect role, you will be responsible for scoping, designing and shaping complex cross-practice solutions and services that span the specialised capabilities of CyberCX business units (Practices). This role will be a key contributor, driving the end-to-end technical pre-sales for large complex solutions for CyberCX. This will mean you support CyberCX industry and subject matter experts to meet customer needs, supporting thought leadership as well as providing guidance and mentoring to other Commercial & Solutions Group (CSG) team members and the Customer (sales) team.
Whilst this role is predominantly a pre-sales consulting role, it is expected that the Principal Solution Architect will be engaged approximately 20% on client work to effectively undertake the end-to-end nature of the role, varying by engagement.

You’ll be responsible for: As a Principal Solutions Architect, you will drive how CyberCX and our customers deliver against complex business and cyber security opportunities. As a key part of Australia’s leading cyber security company, you will provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership, delivered by partnering closely with our customers. Varying by engagement whilst focusing mainly on pre-sales, you will undertake roles across the whole customer experience, with potential oversight of front-line engagements with some of our biggest customers and engagements.
Additional responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Lead the development of large and complex CyberCX solutions (typically multi-domain/-Practice solutions) in CSG accounts through the creation of proposals, statements of work and other required pre-sales artefacts.
- Develop the vision that underlies the solution and enables its execution.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of capabilities, technologies, and services across the full breadth of cyber security
- Participate in activities to deepen existing senior customer relationships, including strategic account planning, and development of key relationships to lead to follow-on work.
- Develop, refine, tailor, and update CyberCX services and offerings.
- Develop and maintain templates and working aids for use within the CSG presales team.
- Scope and design technical and technology-led solutions, focusing on Professional Services, including:
- Security strategy, frameworks, controls, and compliance
- Capability discovery, assessment, and uplift.
- Technical capabilities, including: SIEM, SOAR, Asset & Vulnerability Management, Firewalls, Network Segregation, Application Security
- Cloud, on-premises, and hybrid capabilities.
- Work closely with Customer (sales) team and other presales architects on proposals and bids for both technical and executive stakeholders based on customer requirements.
- Identify and recommend innovative service offerings and ways to improve existing approaches through a thorough analysis and consultation process. Foster a culture of excellence. Challenge the way we do things and look for opportunities to improve on an ongoing basis
- Lead design workshops and develop design documentation in conjunction with subject matter experts and the managed services team.
About you: Recognising that everyone has their own unique background and experience, we are keen to hear how you would fit or develop into our role – including your diverse experience, skills and qualifications. Ideally you already have around 6 or more years’ experience working in cyber security, technology, or professional services industries.
Your ability to build credibility with leaders and experts underpins your success. You will have an extensive understanding of the technical or cyber security vendor landscape, understand the importance of data sovereignty, and how business is shaped by cyber, physical and personnel security.
Your other demonstrable attributes will include:
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to leaders with clarity.
- Adept abilities to think creatively whilst solving complex problems.
- Demonstrated experience across, and some certification in:
- Enterprise and Security Architecture qualifications (e.g. TOGAF or SABSA)
- Cloud security architecture
- Security solution design
- Security patterns and principles
- Significant experience in implementing, assuring, or managing security frameworks, e.g. ISO27001, NIST CSF, ISM.
- In-depth understanding of technical security controls (WAF, DAM, IPS, EUBA, etc)
- Identity and access management
- Systems Engineering or Project/transition management experience.
- Specialise in certain solutions/products, with vendor certifications in specialist area.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in solution selling.
- Ability to mentor peers and junior team members.
- People leadership skills are advantageous.
- Capable of independently responding to setbacks in an agile and resilient manner.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with an ability to build credibility with senior leaders and internal working teams.
