Position Summary & Primary Objectives

Reporting to the Managing Consultant Cloud Engineer is responsible for assisting in the design, build and operational handover of VMware on AWS delivery. In addition, the Cloud Engineer will support customers to understand their business challenges and IT priorities and will design and implement cloud solutions that will transform the way they deliver IT services.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Craft customised VMware Cloud on AWS solutions such as running strategy and discovery workshops, AWS Immersion Days and pilots
• Interview customers to determine needs and conduct customers secondary research and soliciting guidance from VMware and AWS Account Teams across Public and Commercial Sectors.
• Work with product specialists, product managers, public cloud partners, and other stakeholders to create the best solution to fit the customer’s cloud architecture.
• Partner with customers to become a trusted advisor on their Digital Transformation journey on VMware Cloud on AWS
• Work through customer specifications and develop solutions in line with defined requirements – design and/or implement technical solutions
• Author documentation and produce high-quality reports and presentations for senior customers stakeholders
• Conduct customer meetings and workshops Manage customer expectations, communicate effectively, and develop professional relationships with customers
• Work closely with team to ensure project delivery meet customer expectations
• Actively collaborate across CyberCX and continuously look for ways to add value. Facilitate communication, partnerships, and cross-pollination across the business to allow teams to better engage and service customers
• Recognise and promptly advise leadership of potential issues and potential follow-on business opportunities
• Willing to travel and demonstrate flexibility to deliver on customer project requirements
• Contribute to a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and accountability through consistent employee engagement
• Continuously develop skills and knowledge around the relevant technologies and solutions in the market

Preferred Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or related discipline and/or equivalent industry experience
• At least 2 years of experience in a Consulting role, ideally with experience working for a global consulting firm or large technology company, delivering projects across multiple environments
• Broad experience and knowledge in hybrid and cloud technologies
• Experience and certification on AWS Cloud technologies
• Strong desire and passion to obtain industry-based certifications
• Able to work autonomously and use initiative to achieve desired outcomes
• Excellent collaboration skills; work well as part of a team
• Ability to communicate with structure, clarity, and precision
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with pro-active approach with a can-do attitude
• Skilled in responding to setbacks in an agile and resilient manner
