ONCALL Language Services is looking for an energetic, commercially minded and people-focused State Manager to lead our Queensland business into its next exciting chapter. We're not looking for someone who simply maintains the status quo. We're looking for a natural relationship builder, a creative thinker and a confident leader who sees opportunities where others see obstacles.
You'll inherit an established business with strong client relationships, an experienced local team and a solid foundation for continued success. Your challenge? Learn the business, build on what's already working and bring fresh ideas, energy and ambition to take Queensland to the next level. If you enjoy meeting people, opening doors, building partnerships and turning opportunities into results, we want to hear from you.

About ONCALL
With over 42 years of experience, ONCALL Language Services is a leading provider of interpreting, translation and innovative language solutions. Supporting government, healthcare, legal and commercial organisations, we help people communicate, connect and access essential services every day. We're proud of our people, our relationships and our growing investment in technology and innovation. From traditional interpreting services to cutting-edge video-on-demand and accessibility solutions, we're continually finding new ways to support our clients. And we're looking for the right person to help drive that success in Queensland.

The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the National Director, Sales & Growth, you'll take ownership of ONCALL's Queensland business, balancing commercial growth, client relationships and team leadership. This is a highly visible role where you'll have the opportunity to build genuine relationships with senior decision-makers, influence business strategy and contribute to the success of our national organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Drive business growth: Identify new markets, develop creative business development strategies and convert opportunities into lasting partnerships.
• Build meaningful relationships: Engage with senior executives and decision-makers across healthcare, government, justice and commercial sectors.
• Lead an established business: Take ownership of Queensland's commercial performance, building on existing success while identifying new opportunities.
• Champion innovation: Introduce clients to ONCALL's expanding range of technology-enabled interpreting, translation and accessibility solutions.
• Be the face of ONCALL in Queensland: Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, networking opportunities and client meetings.
• Support and inspire people: Work closely with our local team, interpreter workforce and national colleagues to create a positive, collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Deliver commercial results: Take accountability for revenue growth, profitability, customer satisfaction and long-term business performance.
• Shape our future: Contribute to strategic planning, tender opportunities and initiatives that support our national growth ambitions.

Who We're Looking For
We want someone with drive, personality and an entrepreneurial mindset. You're someone who genuinely enjoys being out in the market, connecting with people, developing ideas and creating opportunities. You're equally comfortable presenting to a room of executives, collaborating with colleagues or rolling up your sleeves to solve a customer challenge.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Proven leadership experience in business development, account management, service delivery or commercial operations.
• A strong commercial mindset, including experience managing revenue, budgets or P&L performance.
• A natural ability to connect with people, build trust and develop long-term relationships.
• A creative, proactive approach to business growth. You don't wait for opportunities to arrive; you go out and create them.
• Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-makers.
• An outgoing, positive and enthusiastic personality with a genuine team-first attitude.
• The ability to balance big-picture thinking with practical execution and accountability.
• A willingness to learn, embrace innovation and challenge conventional thinking.

Experience working with government, healthcare or professional services clients would be advantageous, but you don't need to come from the language services industry. We're more interested in finding the right person with the right attitude, commercial capability and leadership qualities. We'll help you learn the rest.

What's In It For You?
We believe great people deserve great opportunities. You'll be joining a successful and growing organisation where your contribution will be recognised, your ideas will be welcomed and your achievements will make a genuine difference.

We offer:

• Competitive base salary reflecting your experience and capability.
• Car allowance to support your client engagement and business development activities.
• Quarterly incentive scheme rewarding performance and results.
• An established and thriving business with a strong foundation, existing customers and significant growth potential.
• Support from an experienced national leadership team and a collaborative network of colleagues.
• The opportunity to influence strategy, introduce new ideas and help shape the future of our Queensland operations.
• Exposure to innovative technology and solutions in a dynamic and evolving industry.
• A culture built on teamwork, initiative and celebrating success.

The position is based at our Bowen Hills office in Brisbane, with occasional intrastate and interstate travel required.
