The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive, organised and relationship-focused Interpreter Relations & Project Coordinator to join our Interpreter Relations team in a full-time ongoing role.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Strategic Partnerships & Relationships, you will play a key role in supporting and developing our national interpreter workforce. You will manage interpreter performance, engagement and quality initiatives while coordinating projects that improve workforce capability, service delivery and interpreter experience.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, coordinating projects and driving continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage interpreter feedback, complaints, incidents and performance matters.
- Conduct workplace investigations and prepare case documentation and recommendations.
- Provide coaching, guidance and performance improvement support to interpreters.
- Monitor interpreter performance using the Performance Management Framework.
- Coordinate Performance Improvement Plans where required.
- Maintain accurate interpreter records, performance data and workforce profiles.
- Ensure interpreter practices align with organisational policies, ISO procedures and professional standards.
- Respond to interpreter enquiries via phone, email and shared inboxes.
- Build strong relationships that promote interpreter engagement, professionalism and retention.
- Collaborate with Recruitment and operational teams to support workforce planning and interpreter experience.
- Coordinate interpreter engagement, recognition and retention initiatives.
- Support the planning and delivery of strategic workforce projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Project Management, Communications, Education or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in employee relations, workforce engagement, HR or a similar role.
- Experience coordinating projects or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using workforce management systems or databases.
The following experience will be highly regarded: - Knowledge of NAATI certification and the AUSIT Code of Ethics.
- Understanding of interpreting standards and the language services industry.
- Experience in performance management, workplace investigations or employee relations.
- Experience using CRM, LMS, NextGen or workforce management systems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced service delivery environment.
