About the Opportunity
Oncall is a market leader in language services, providing interpreting, translation, transcription, and AI solutions across Australia and internationally. We partner with government, healthcare, and corporate clients to support diverse communities with services that matter.
The Financial Controller is both a hands-on and strategic role within Oncall Language Services, offering the opportunity to strengthen Oncall’s financial operations. This role will provide the opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller that has aspirations to grow their career in the future into a Chief Financial Officer role.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee the financial management of a group of entities, ensuring compliance, accurate reporting, and financial insights that drive profitability. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to shape strategy, improve financial performance, and prepare the business for its next stage of growth.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting, compliance, and performance management across multiple entities and oversee cash flow, operating expenses, and risk management.
• Prepare and present monthly financial statements, providing strategic insights directly to the Executive Team, provide commercial insights, including pricing, margin analysis, and business cases.
• Build financial models to support corporate strategy and decision-making, while partnering with State Managers and senior leaders to improve bottom-line performance.
• Mentor and support the finance team (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable)
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures

  
About You

• Tertiary qualified in Finance or Accounting (CPA/CA preferred but not essential).
• 5+ years’ experience in financial management and accounting.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and commercial acumen.
• Experience working directly with C-Suite and Executive Teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and a drive for process improvements.
• Strong communications skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work within an agile and ever changing environment; resilience, ambition, and collaboration will be essential to working in this fast-paced environment.
