The Opportunity
We’re looking for a confident and proactive AV Technician to join our Conferences team at Oncall Language Services on casual basis. You’ll be at the forefront of setting up and operating AV systems for events that bring people together from high-stakes conferences to simultaneous interpreting setups powered by our very own cloud-based captioning tool, CaptionConnect. In this role, you will:

• Set up and operate AV equipment: microphones, cameras, screens, projectors, video conferencing tools
• Deliver live technical support during events, including for interpreters
• Maintain and troubleshoot AV equipment and escalate when needed
• Assist with AV asset inventory and on-the-spot issue resolution
• Support the use of CaptionConnect and other hardware (audio converters)
• Keep event-day AV running smoothly and professionally

What we’re looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 1–2 years' experience in AV operations or event tech
• Strong understanding of AV systems, audio mixers, and signal flow
• Confidence with video conferencing platforms
• Calm, professional presence under pressure
• Tech-minded, adaptable, and reliable
• Physically capable of lifting and setting up equipment

Bonus: Sound engineering background or a certificate in Live Production/Technical Services
