The opportunity:

Are you ready to combine your culinary skills with the thrill of alpine life? We’re on the lookout for a passionate Cook to join our team for this snow season at Mt Baw Baw.

This is a full-time, ski-in ski-out opportunity where your kitchen becomes part of the mountain magic. Depending on your skills and experience, you'll be placed in one of our vibrant venues:

Village Central Restaurant: assist the Chef prepare delicious meals by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, checking ingredients for freshness, and arrange and garnish dishes.

Skiosk & Cafe 11: preparing quick and tasty take away snacks and meals for our hungry guest who are on the go! Our Hospitality Attendants will provide support to ensure service runs smoothly at both of these outlets.

When you're not in the kitchen, take advantage of our beautifully manicured snow slopes to learn or improve your skiing and boarding skills. Join us and be part of a dynamic team where you can grow and thrive!

Want to know where you’ll be working…nestled only 2.5 hours from the heart of Melbourne, Mt Baw Baw is Melbourne’s closest downhill ski, snowboard, toboggan and snow play resort....'make tracks' this winter for a unique employment opportunity. 

Key responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with the Head Chef or Food & Beverage Supervisor to prepare meals during service hours. 
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and food preparation areas. 
• Monitoring and restocking of kitchen supplies. 
• Maintain quality control to always ensure consistency in the presentation of food and service to guest. 

What amazing skills and experience will score you this role? 

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
• Cert II Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
• Victorian Safe Food Handling certificate   
• Demonstrated good communication skills (verbal & written) 
• A passion for cleanliness and standards.

  The successful candidate will be required to:

• Have full Australian working rights. International applicants are required to obtain their own visa with valid Australian work rights.
• Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check – Employee type
• Have an Australian drivers licence (Victorian licence preferred) 
• Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.
• Available to work weekends and school holidays.
• Available from June to 30 September (or the declared snow season)

Hourly pay rate: Commencing from $30.51 per hour + casual loading & superannuation
