The opportunity
The Resort Operations Officer (Snow Operations) supports the delivery of snow grooming and snowmaking activities across Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort to ensure ski areas, trails, village spaces, and snow play areas are safe, accessible, and well maintained.
This role is to ensure our slopes reach their maximum potential. Working mostly throughout the night our snowmakers run our snow Factories and Guns ensuring snow is produced in the correct locations. Our Groomers is tasked with moving and smoothing out the snow to ensure our staff and guests can move safely around the resort and enjoy the slopes.
As part of the snowmaking team you will be working outdoors so to keep you warm on those cold dark nights, we will kit you out with toasty warm snow pants, a jacket, and boots for the season!

Key accountabilities:
- Run and monitor snow factories – regular checks to ensure efficiency and safety requirements are met
- Move snowmaking pipes to ensure coverage on the slope and help with groomer push out
- Monitor weather conditions and run snow guns when able.
- Safely operate, inspect & maintain plant, machinery and equipment in accordance with statutory requirements, ARV policies & safe work procedures
- Respond to emergency situations (including fire, medical, search and rescue and infrastructure threats) as directed and in accordance with the resort Emergency Management Plan.
What amazing skills and experience will score you this role? - Demonstrated experience as a Snow Maker or Groomer
- Backhoe and loader tickets
- Experience working in alpine environments, including night and remote operations • Experience working safely in extreme and variable weather conditions
- Heavy Rigid Licence (Groomer) (Desirable)
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Laser sharp attention to detail attention to detail and safety consciousness at all times
- A LOVE of the outdoors, including the rain, hail, and shine (and obviously SNOW)
- Available from June - September 2026 (or declared snow season)
The successful candidate will be required to: - Have full Australian working rights. International applicants are required to obtain their own visa with valid Australian work rights.
- Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check – Employee type
- Have an Australian drivers licence (Victorian licence preferred)
- Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.

Hourly pay rate: From $30.51 - $34.85 per hour + casual loading assessed on skills and experience.
