The opportunity:
Are you an enthusiastic chef eager to display your culinary talents in a stunning winter wonderland? Mt Baw Baw is on the lookout for a skilled and imaginative chef to join our Hospitality team and take our dining experience to the next level! As a full-time Chef, you will be supported in the kitchen by our Cooks and Kitchen Hands while you create mouth-watering culinary delights for our guests.
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of preparing delicious meals for our customers, from weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients to cooking, checking for freshness, and beautifully arranging and garnishing dishes. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, expertly multitasking and taking direction with ease. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring the kitchen and equipment are impeccably cleaned and maintained.
As the Chef, you'll support and guide your kitchen team, identify and implement improvements to enhance communication about the Food and Beverage operations, and make decisions that align with the food & beverage guidelines. You'll resolve service delivery challenges and manage daily workflows to ensure the smooth execution of our food outlets. Reporting to the Head of Visitor Experience, you'll work closely with the Visitor Services Team to create an unforgettable dining experience for our guests.

Key accountabilities:
- Support and guide team members who work in the kitchen
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance communication about resort Food and Beverage operations.
- Make decisions based on established rules to ensure they align with food and beverage guidelines.
- Resolve challenges related to service delivery while following established guidelines.
- Manage daily workflows to ensure smooth execution of the Resort kitchen outlets and completion of assigned tasks.
What amazing skills and experience will score you this role? - Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a restaurant industry
- Cert III Commercial Cookery
- Victorian Safe Food Handling certificate
- Demonstrated good communication skills (verbal & written)
- A passion for cleanliness and standards.
The successful candidate will be required to: - Have full Australian working rights. International applicants are required to obtain their own visa with valid Australian work rights.
- Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check – Employee type
- Have an Australian drivers licence (Victorian licence preferred)
- Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.
- Available to work weekends and school holidays.
- Available from mid-May to 30 September (or the declared snow season)

Salary: $47.18 - $52.24 p/h including casual loading
